I`m trying to use cvs, but failed to login

cvs [login aborted] authorization failed server cvs.motifzone.net rejected access

1) Has somebody succeeded to get the source using cvs?
2) Would it be possible to have a bzip2-ed tarfile for
download, which contains the directory structure like
it was retrieved by cvs? This would decrease telephone
costs, and is done for other projects like wine already.
